Perhaps going to a doctor if it is bad enough.

Yea id suggest that too. many often forget that its a skin disease. clearasil and the likes are soap, not medicine. It does not cure the problem.

If it's something that bothers you/makes you self conscious then yeah go see a doctor, but not just a regular doctor get yourself referred to a dermatologist (they specialize in skin care), you may have to be persistent about asking to be referred to one but in the end you’ll be better off.
Besides if you have bad acne that can lead to pretty bad scaring on your skin later in life if it’s not looked after.

I would go to the doctor. My acne wasn't that bad, but it started in 5th grade, so that was an excuse. Get some medicated face washes and stuff, and make sure you use them evedry day. It helps a ton! Or if you cant do that, use oxy 10. its 10% benzoil peroxyde and it clears all ze skin problems. luv ya all!

Some over the counter products tend to fail, I'd suggest Proactive, that has helped a lot of ppl, including myself when I had random things popping out of my forehead...yuck!
Give it a shot. :)

I used to have the same problem 5-6 yrs ago, never the less here are my top TIP's
*Stay AWAY from acne products
*Wash face twice a day with Face Wash (there are many try them all and see wat works for you)
*Changing your pillow covers NIGHTLY helps out alot, due to the fact that there is much less oil.
*Exfoliate twice a week. (Do not shave on the same day when you do)
*Keep all sugars to a minium (diet fizzy is the answer)
*Exercise as much as you can.
*Rinse and Lather your face with face wash as well. It really cleans the pores out with the running water.
*Dont be shy: If you have a really important event, or just want to look your best, use a little makeup.
Hope this helps, this is basicly my current facial regiment plus a few acne fighting tips, So give it a go.

On a real serious note, i used to use Colgate toothpaste(normal Total) and rub it on to the areas and then leave it on for a few minutes, wash off. Do it morning and night and they go away. It's something about the mint.

that can increase acne as well
another good point is don't touch your face unless you have washed your hands! you wouldn't believe the amount of bacteria you have on your hand, even when you wash your hands you can still have quiet a bit.

I had terrible acne when I was 18, I still get it now wen im 21. I went to see a dermatologist finally when I was 18 who prescribed me with erythromycin tablets and benzoil peroxyde cream (5% best, 10% is too strong). Worked a treat and now I only get a few spots (nothing compared to how bad it was!) If you have quite bad acne youll prob be put on this medication. Oh and try a avoid roaccunatine (or woteva its called) it has very bad side effects including depression.
Don is right as well you have to keep nagging to get a referal to see a dermatologist, once you see one Im sure the doc will sort you out. Like I said I had bad acne and it really got me down (didnt want to go out etc..) now its gone feel loads beta
stuff like clearasil does **** all if not make it worst, thats why it irritates me the way they advertise it when the model in the advert has clear skin anyway, a bar of unsented soap is beta (simple soap is good i found)

That works for really (ugh) wet ones. It dries them out... Something about the chalky nature of toothpaste.
Gag. :D

I had really bad spots in school, mum took me to a skin sdoctor and i got some VERY strong tablets, made my lips peel and got nose bleeds very easily for no reason! It said in the Instructions that they can make u feel Suicidal! lol
But now after taking them i hardly get sports, was worth tit! :D
The only thing is that these tablets were £1 each and i had 200 of them, luckly i was under 18 and still in education! so got them on the NHS!!
