No, they arent :p They look they same size and almoust are, the picture where you rearranged the pieces is correct. Except that the whole bottom line goes over the angle by 7,7% of a square (which is the only unit for measuring available). Now you have one extra square (well actually 92,3% of a square), and 12 squares that go 7,7% over the angle. So the total area going over the square is 12x7,7%= 92,4%. Given that the whole picture isnt made with 100% geometrical accurecy, i can live with 0,1% of a square that doesnt fit :)

If Archimedes Principal is to be accepted that -
The Square on the Hypotenuse of a Right angled triangle
is equal to the sum of the Squares on the two adjacent sides,
then, because the illustration is that of an Isosceles Triangle, the following theory applies -
The Squares in the Isosceles Triangle and the other little angley bits sort of
get jiggled about a bit by the Smiley Gremlin.

I am tempted to use my mod powers to censor everything you have just written Ionos - that theory has remained a secret known only to the Order of the Gremliny Thingemybobs for centuries, passed down from Gremlinite to Gremlinite - and here you go and blab it all to everyone. I have heard that Lord Gremlin is already considering suitable ways to punish you!

I'm fully aware that the 'Order of the Gremliny Thingemybobs' have tried to censor this for centuries and that the Lord Gremlin would be extremely upset if this information was 'leaked'
but the Ionosphere has planet Earth surrounded, and the Gremlins are painfully aware of this,
and as a member of the Ionosphere Crew....
....well,need I say more? (they've tried it on before.... and lost.)
Not only does a Man need to know his limitations but so does a Gremlin.
