Similar thing happened to me back in 04.
Was getting off a train at 4:30pm, having met some friends at the station. They'd came down from Cardiff for a few days, catch up on old times.
Next thing I know, group of people have came up behind us, started attacking one of my mates. Instinct reaction, get his girlfriend out the way, and deal with it. Managed to fight them off, somewhat surprising considering I can get away with hiding behind lamposts.
Long story short, friends were ok, I ended up fighting two guys myself, getting a concussion, and sacked from my job for not contacting them to let them know I wasn't going to be in for a 7pm start as I was going to be at the hospital.
Happy days ^.~

Sorry mate but that's just not true, they're a deterant I've seen it happen, you need to have lived on a rough estate to grasp it fully. ^that is true^ ive been in to certain estates/cities where you need to carry a tool just to defend yourself against the twats like in that video, otherwise you dont stand a chance! plus it works as a brilliant deterrant if you was to get into a fight, so its just for defence really, and feeling more secure walking around dodgy parts.but i'm in the type of job though where you do need to be able to defend yourself, and reguarly get into sticky situations, so i dont disagree with people carrying weapons, its upto how they use it, and when!

100% agreed but pretty much always do with you jenks, aint a nice world forra lotta people and even if your a good person who tries to keep his head down shit will happen to you and people will take the piss if you let them.
my family are quiet hardworking people, growin up both me and my brother were part of the lads but never c*nts and would help people out if we could.
I've been hit with knifes jus walkin down the road for f*ck all other than comin from a diff area to the other person, and cant remember the amount of times i've had them pulled on me and got away. I came from one of the best areas of my city aswell, nothing like some of the parts i've had to work in.
my brother at 15 or 16 was hit with a claw hammer square on the head that coulda easily killed him, i'll admit that was for something his friend had done but nothing to do with my brother personally.
Sometimes you need to take revenge, violence does just lead to more violence and it never ends but i dunno isnt much you can do in a tight community wen people pick on your family.
So glad its all in the past now but i remember it well (will never forget) that nervous feeling in your heart wen everythings went f*cked up and it aint as easy or black and white as a lot of people think. Definitely not as simple as good and bad, when all that shits happenin all around you defo become desensitized to it and jus block it out most the time.
But aye people that go beatin people up or stabbin them for no reason are scum, sadly the good people in communities are too quiet to fight back to these people a lotta the time.
With some of the mad families its pretty hard for ordinary people to stand up to them. You've got people who have families, jobs and whatever other responsibilities to look after. Then theres nutters who'll just stab you, go to jail for a couple years then get out and stab you again.
Or you've got 80 equally mad ones of there brothers, cousins and mates to deal with.
Aint much the law can do aswell as people wont fight back or grass people in, just gotta look after yourself, your family and mates the best you can.
Dont see many easy answers myself and although it sounds very harsh, i think punishment beatings they do in ulster's estates work the best at keeping the nutters in order. Throw your wait around to innocent people or sell drugs to kids, 2 shots to the kneecaps soon calms that down.
I dunno if im right just dont really see it changing except mibbe getting slightly worse, its always been that way but crack and smack are making people even more ill in the head from what i've seen.
It aint like that all over britain and most people can avoid it, i avoid any of these situations like the plague, but wen your stuck with it in your face 24/7 you cant.
Every city in britain has these problems, even if you dont directly see it, is happening in one place or other.
Even sadder thing is this is one of the top couple countries in the world to be in, think we've got problems you jus need to switch on the news.

2 weeks back me and the mrs was sat on a bench in a park having a fag
6 of this little pikey fcukers were mooching about all with about 3 bottles of Lambrini each and 1 of them basically told me to give him a fag. I said it was my last 1 and that i was smoking it. Then the wanker tried taking it out my gob. Just from this he decided he wanted to bottle me! I stood my ground but knew he was just waiting for me to say something so he could wack me. Would of had it out with the **** but would of got my face smashed in by the rest of them. Plus those bottles are quite big. Would of hurt a bit i reckon. Also 2 of them were these little slags so last thing i wanted was my girlfriend getting a hiding. In the end he ****ed off but i got proper pissed off with myself for not beating the shit out of him.
Spose i could be in a right state now if i did though ay!
I will see him again anyway hopefully, batter the ****!
No real reason for posting this just getting it off my chest i suppose!

Woah thats one hell of a coincidence with that Sun video
Basically on a website called Facebook (used by students) the lad that wasn't killed started up a group about the petition as he goes my university, and basically has got over a thousand students to join the group.
Someone invited me today to join the group and I wasn't going to bother but I saw the video. Its quite weird as on the main page it has this written by the guy
"The sun have started the campaign on there website so i urge u all to sign it. Also on the website is the attack as shown on the CCTV from the night. I warn you its pretty graphic and sick as u can see me gettin stabbed! Thanks for your support!"
It must be pretty bad to be able to watch that video again were you can see your mate being stabbed on film. Takes hell of a lot of character in my opinion to do that
What this video did teach me though that if I'm ever tempted to have a go at someone who may be pissing me off, I'd probably let it go and swallow my pride as I could be dead, as this video shows how easily and quickly it can happen
