I love drink and it aint a problem, when i'm skint i dont drink and never get shakes or that.

jus wen i have cash i like goin pub or gettin a few jars with my mates, it does get in the way of doin stuff though.

thinking about gettin back into boxing/gym and cuttin it down to jus odd sesh, but aye i'm not particularly a binger.

jus like chillin with a few cans most nights

*edit

i'm not even gonna take that test to embarrass myself

Getting drunk 3 times a week doesn't make you an alccy. Theres all sorts of different alccies. Essentially it all boils down to an addiction to alcohol. Even if its just one glass of wine a day - you HAVE to have it!

And its not just about damaging your liver either. The worst thing alcoholism can destroy is your relationships.

I doubt your an alcoholic Smoogie. You just sound like a typical student to me. Take a break from the juice if your worried and see how you are for a few weeks. If you can take it or leave it then you don't have a problem.

yeah i was under the impression that:

alcoholism = addicted to alcohol = needing a drink in the morning to get you up sort of thing, withdrawal symptons if you don't have any (e.g addiction, bit different from having a couple of drinks a week).

i smoke weed almost every day, but it doesnt make me addicted, because i can easily go without smoking it, i just prefer not to. theres a difference.

Dont you think thats exactly something an Alcoholic would say... I could go without it, i just dont want to!

Thats why the main point of AA meetings is that bit at the start.... 'Hi my name is ...... and i'm an alcoholic'

Once you have Recognised there is a problem and cast away all of those excuses for there not being a problem, thats when you can overcome the problem.

Lots ov problems.... I Knw..... my Dr. says the same thing [@:P]

getting drunk 2-3 times a week doesn't mean you're an alcoholic, smoogie. I used to drink every evening and get hammered, and wake up in the morning and buying another can of stella at 10 am before i got the train to college, cause i couldn't focus without it (well that's what i thought anyways)

Now I just a few glasses of wine in the evening because it helps me relax, and sleep easily, but that doesn't make me an alcoholic. My dad is an alcoholic however, even though he doesn't admit.. he'll drink 2-3 bottles of rose wine every evening without fail, plus spirits on the weekends. But he still manages to cook, lock the doors, go about what he does in the evenings whilst being drunk, and it never shows. He even gets up in the mornings at 7 am to go to work without moaning. Thats a bad way to be, I try to help him but he just says "I jsut like drinking, now shut up", whereas the truth is he is unhappy in his new marraige, but wahtever I won't go into that ;p

theres an old saying, if you do do drink, don't do drunk :D

and.. a glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away :p

Take care and don't drink too much :p

Yes exactly that.

At the end of the day there is two types of addiction mental and physical. I would say I'm mentally addicted to drink, I only really drink on Friday and Saturday but I will admit to finding it very, very hard to not going out drinking on those days... I can't remember when I last didn't drink on those days in fact. Therefore I definitely have an addiction. Physical addiction is obviously the worst of the 2 your body (rather than you mind) has become reliant on the drug resulting in the shakes etc when it doesn't get it.

@ Smoogie I wouldn't worry unless your drinking enough to damage your body or your falling out with people over drunken crap, you definitely will not have a phsical addiction drinking 3 days a week.

Spoone - No matter what you may think you have a mental addiction to cannabis. Don't take this offensively in any way I mean no harm buy it but I find it funny when people say "I'm not addicted to ----- I just like doing it". My girlfriend says it about her fags and gives it the "I can give up when I want" bollocks but at the end of the day she is well addicted and she would struggle giving up. I used to say it myself about fags and skunk till I gave them up.

That's a pretty good sign. You know if you ever find yourself "making it" possible to afford it that you need to worry.
