The reality is, it doesn't have a big enough audience to warrant an earlier, more prime time slot.
The slightly more half-truths style answer is that most people are coming back from raves at that time and they *might* catch it. (Although most are usually after something to chill out to rather than more fast kick drum led music!).

thats cos there weak , i've had the pleasure of switching on radio one on way back from raves to savage hardcore techno and even speedcore, seriously unexpected but amazing.
never heard uk hardcore get played, fair enough though a lot of people listen to it now so they've gotta find some space for it.

I take it, it was kutskis show then? which I've mentioned before! problem is hes only on every 6 weeks! and he plays all sorts of hardcore from 4-5am from cheese to freeform to gabber! (and a bit of old skool now and again) well worth a listen on their website! His hardance stuffs upfront too, especially the holland stuff!
