I've had a little bit of confusion about copyrighting...
If I was to bring out a little amature CD and sell it on the internet on Ebay or something, is the 'Record Mailing' the album to myself sufficent enough?
I asked on another music forum and apparently it wont hold up if big companies are trying to steal my music, but I researched further on the internet and the chances of this happening are very slim, so I have no reason to worry about it and the postal copywrighting is by far the best means of copyrighting.
Can someone help me out?
Cheers

In cases of plagiating, big companys might "steal" your work, but not directly selling your tunes under their name. But yea the envelope thing should be enough.

That's pretty funny, spose it is true.
Although I am a poor man myself, i'm still probably gonna go through with it. I'm not expecting to make a lot of cash n sell to a lot of people anyway.
Besides if someone stole my music i'd be flattered...pissed off, but flattered...

if you're going ot be selling a CD, you'd need to lisence all the tracks to be able to legally copyright it i think

If he wants royalties from radio play, and artist royalties when its sold in a store, then yes. Otherwise no, he still owns the copyrights, doesnt matter if hes registered with a RIAA type organization or not.
