my stereo all of today is not playin cd's rite away, im having to turn my stereo on and off like 5 times before it plays, it says loading and then i can here the cd turnin but then it just reads no disc and also on volume 40 you used be able my stereo from other side of the road now i can berely here it the other room were my computer is!
n e ideas????

yea my stereo is starting to **** up now, the sounds are coming out delessed sometimes now. Like if im watching a film the voices will sound strange sometimes, but i've checked the wires and when I have it too loud it turned it's self off :S
It's had a good run but that hammer method sounds pretty hehehehe!!!

I just presumed everyone used their PCs to play music these days...
Altho when i am cleanin the house i just use my dvd player and tv to listen to cds

that should do the trick, it just has a brush on the underside to clean the lens.
I use my pc but use the line out into my stereo instead, bit easier play cds or just play mp3s.

Ahh but you do if you get some decent speakers wired up :). Still I play music on my decks, ghetto blaster & tape player (yes I still have one ;)) so I don't only use my PC either :P.
I dropped my old 4 piece stereo stack off the roof, was great fun (recommended).
Anyways... Could be a dirty laser but that wouldn't usually have a significant impact on volume level.

My Kenwood system started playing up.
Cleaned the laser lens and it was OK for about 5 minutes.
Took it to bits, cleaned everything, put it back together and it worked OK for about an hour.
So, I unplugged all the leads and, after carefully, methodically and logically thinking about it....
held it above my head, let it fall to the floor and kicked the f*ck out of it.
Occasionally I still find bits of it around the house but....
....it will never go wrong again. ; )
(A useful tip:- I removed the lens from the debris and hung it on a small nail I especially knocked into the wall ....that way the lens is easily accessible for cleaning at any time)

Lol very methodical
I did the same with the stereo at work but took to it with my steel capped boots, after my rage had subsided i realised i had just broken the only form of entertainment at work and was in for a hounding...so i hid the pieces all throughout the store lol

meh, need the lens cleaned on my old stereo me thinks. Never use it now anywho. Just use my pc, but both cd drives are playing up also, pc is about 7 years old.... sooo..... need a new one
