Ok, for by Communitcations key skill at college (i'm on a level 2 Buisness course, not a special skills course) we are doing talks and i'm choosing Hardcore. I havn't talked about it in front of a large group before (although I talked about London in my catering key skill) and I need tips to keep my course group of 18 interested. I'm going to bring in my whole CD collection (yes all of them!) and might play some classics.

Anyone got any idears? (It needs to last four minutes but i'm going to go over that a bit)

Don't bore them by repeatedly talking about "96 beats" ;).

One thing id do...is show the evolution of Hardcore

Even MY freinds, ( remember i live in L.A. where only SOME people know what Hardcore is) think that all Hardcore is the cheesy, chipmunk, piano-madness that it was WAAY back in the day.

Play the old stuff in the background that might get people laughing, Then the new stuff.

As far as what to talk about...What are you tryin to do??? (the sole-purpose of the speech itself)

Yeah and make sure you don't talk mostly about happy hardcore. Delve into all aspects of hardcore; breakbeat, gabba, freeform etc.

you got any dvd's from a rave? id also just make a cd with 3 or 4 tracks that can be playin while you chatin.

talk bowt the atmosphere and the buzz and how it makes you feel

Evel?....Obsessed?......Who would ever think that?

By the way Evel, did you ask ~T~'s permission before you ripped his avatar?

That is very good advice. I'm impressed.

....and B.C. that's not ~T~'s avatar. Look again.

It came by e-mail and I am very grateful. I won't talk about 1996 all the time, I will talk about 1997 too! I like Clarke101's idear of progresion. I have a few Hardcore fans on the course who like listening to it also. Today I heard someone listeing to 'Heartbeatz' and she has also listened to Shooting Star. They know what i'm like so they are expecting me to go on as usal lol Who knows, I might get someone into it all!
