Just wanted to let everyone that I've just passed my thai boxing grading!

Nothing big, but feel quite proud and thought I'd share it with you lot. Was quite hard training and ended up feeling dizzy then...
But i've passed and am now a licensed thai boxer.

well in mate i've not done a fight in over a year now (kickboxing), not found a new club since i moved areas and being too busy enjoying the raves.

Been thinking about starting up again cos it was such a good feeling when you win in front of a crowd, just need to get the discipline back cos i've well and truly lost it now.

all the best anyway mate i no how good it makes you feel, when you have a sport thats as high work-rate as the fighting ones it sorts out your whole life.

Why am i such a quitter

lotta skill in boxing mate believe me when your up against a dreadlocked maniac your guard has to be as tight as they come, plus knowing exactly where you can hit to hurt and get away with minor cheating the ref doesnt see (part of the game)

the reason i prefer kickboxing to say martial arts is the fact of the fitness side of it. Say your at krav magaa or karate or whatever a lot of what you learn is locks and blocks etc. Plus kata (not how its spelt) where you just do sequences of moves.

At kickboxing its all out physical training, you'll get to do sparring which really helps you and combinations of moves.

Do 2 sessions of kickboxing a week and you'll soon become very fit, which helps the whole rest of your life fall into place. Thing is though it is a lonely life at the same time, you cant go see your mates much because if you've got a bout coming up you cant drink or use substances for 12 weeks. Well you can still go see them obviously but if your main socialising is raving it becomes hard to balance them both.

Main reason i havent been back is i had such a good relationship with my old coach, i dunno if i'd find one i like the same and even if i do i'd have to fight against my old club. That wouldnt be nice for me as they taught me all i've ever learned, but at the end of the day gotta get on with things but i've become very lazy.

Will see what happens but wouldnt mind trying to get back in the ring, will check up locla clubs this week cos is worth a try.

Ciaran, big congrat's, well done mate.

Baldo's right. Now that you've got that far don't let it go,

from spending three or four evenings a week in the gym I'm lucky to get there three or four times a f**ckin' year these days....
