It's so true! Coloured people and rave music don't really go together that often, the kinda music they tend to lean towards is rap and R & B yeh fo sure homie!! JEAH DAWGG!
Just to chip in, i think that more youths growing up in America would rather be black than white.

a lot of people used to associate gabba music with nasty skinheads, but look at loftgroover, played the nastiest nosebleed speedcore, and he's black. the lack of racism in "rave" music is one of it's best features. i started raving in london in 1994 when the music was predominantly jungle, and most of the ravers were black, but no-one gave me any hassle whatsoever, im sure the same could be said of hardcore events now. i honestly believe that no-one gives a toss what you look like in a rave of any sort, that's the beauty of it

Bring on the crazed "white power" freaks. :s :(
Or, as a more likely situation, bring on the crazy ultra liberals who will call us all racist bastards for even discussing the topic... not sure what its like where you live but in England most people have to bend over backwards to keep ethnic minorities happy...

righteous r u a new yorker?
iunno where you're from but i'm from the city too and all the raves i go to, yea of course there's going to be a majority of caucasian ppl but there's always a mix of different ethnicitys...though i have noticed that usually there's mainly caucasians, asians, and "african-americans", rarely have i ever seen like latino/hispanic people. and yeah, and the majority of the scene is made up of guys but i'm a girl. so represent! but it's just like, at raves everyone's there to stomp the night away with their massive love for the music. it's very different from clubs; where it's all about competition - who looks their best and it's all about pullin people and getting the most numbers. so it's jus like at raves, yeah you notice if someone's a girl or a guy, or if someone's a different ethnicity, but it sorta just passes your mind, doesn't really process if you know that i mean. everyone's just there for the music and the fuhkin vibe that you can't get no where else. acceptance?

Sorry, didn't mean to be harsh. I'm probably a bit too wary because I live in Holland where once the topic of ethnic minorities in relation to "racial differences" is raised a whole load of racists take their chance to have a go. Dutchies appear to be tolerant, but I've seen and heard too much to believe that anymore. Just didn't want it to escalate by people starting to put a label on certain "races" of people, that's all.

If you live in an area where 95% of the population is caucasian, but in the local rave 90% would be caucasian. Would it mean that twice as many listen it from non-caucasian ethnities, compared to caucasian?
