So whos a good public speaker?!
Anyone got any really good tips (please dont use that "picture your audience in their underwear" gag, coz that sucks)

I mean, real techniques with the actual performance, to improve and maintain interest and stoof...

Remember to breath calmly
Don't stand completly still, people will get bored of that
Don't use a monoton voice, but don't over-do it
Eye-contact with many is important (Tony Blair is an expert on that some say).
You may talk with your mouth, but you communicate with your entire body.

Hope some of that helps.
If you didn't understand some part, ask and I'll describe it abit more.

talk to the ppl near the back, but dont shout!

Roberticus covered most of it though :D

but having a good speech 2 start with makes things easyer.
(some of this may not apply though)

short storys, followed by explanation of the story, and how it ties in with your point ect (explain whether the story is tru or not too and where you got it from)

quotes can be good, aslong as you know and say where u got them from!

dont leave ppl wondering what u were talking about, keeping it interesting is good, but it has to be understandable to an idiot aswell. dont want ppl walkin away thinking "WTF!?" lol

give ppl something to think about aswell, maybe ask a question, and then explaine your view of it. ppl will have there own views and thoughts, so even if the next 5 min suck, at least they had something to think about!

maybe i totally missed the point of your question.. but yeah lol

what have u got to give a speech on?

I am giving a speech on how to give a speech, Its well good. I am using your points as research, thanks kids!!

I am just fed up of college, my tutor said "it can be on anything withen reason, it would be nice to relate it to college and your course though"

We have planned it to piss her off... one mate is doing a presentation on cheese, another on pro wrestling, another on horse riding (full of innuedos), another on disney princess's. I was going to do mine on the history of KFC, then changed it to the history of IKEA, and then i changed it to The Anatomy of a Fire Door... but this ones better, more subtle and generally more to explore
