This is just sooo stupid.
6 people are now dead because of the Muhammed cartoons. On thursday 500.000 will demonstrate against Denmark in Syria. If the muslims hate us Danes so much, why are they killing themselves? And why does people need to be killed because of a cartoon? I really don't understand. The biggest problem we have here in Denmark is that we need to find some other place to spend our holiday...

Has anyone seen that guy who dressed up as a suicide bomber in London?
Right he could be the most religious guy in the world and have limitless rage towards Denmark and other countries that have printed these cartoons in bad taste. I would accept that, and can accept that some Muslims see this as a very blasmophous concept. I cannot accept his actions howver. Apparently he was showing the Danes etc that how he can show his indecent tastes by dressing up as a suicide bomber. One moment though you prick, you do it in a country which has openly admitted these pictures are a disgrace and has nothing to do with it, and also done it in a country were many peoples lives have been ended or ruined by the actions of people you have mimicked.
What they did was not Islamic, and what that person did was not Islamic

The way i see it. They just needed something to help fuel their hate along. Nobody gets THAT MAD unless they were already a ticking time bomb to begin with.
This goes way beyond the cartoons. There are some really hateful people out there...Religion can cloud your sense-of-humor in an instant i guess.
I've seen some pretty funny Jesus cartoons too. i dont remember once getting pissed.

i even heard that just yesterday muhammed was seen pumping a cat.
what is the world coming to that cats cant even walk about without being sodimised by some oober gay false god.
sorry,i know this is serious an all...but i just aint taking religions like this seriously any more...far as im concerned...its a terrorist organisation,not a religious group...
and they all suck bifkens.

THis is America, you can put whatever you want on the news. and yes this has been given alot of attention. I get all the facts and stuff from the papers, but i come on here to see how it affects you guys over there.
any news channels i watch wont show me kids/adults talking about how ****ed up it really is right now. But here i can get that perspective im missing.

I was just saying that the American governments tend to have a foreign policy that basically they are the only superpower and do not care what happens in the rest of the world unless the following happens:
1. America gets attacked on US soil - 9/11 followed onto Afghanistan
2. Another country builds some potentially dangerous weapons - Iraq (well thats debatable
3. Another country decides to run a nuckear program - Iran, North Korea
4. Another country emerges as a superpower - China
All of the above all show that they could all affect the USA quite badly. I'm pointing out that the US governments only care about one thing, the USA, and they won't be involved at all in this until like one American is injured, then they will start going apeshit all of a sudden and blow up half of the Middle East.

so did you purposely not mention that we gave (just like other super-power countries did) aid to the victims in the Tsunami Disaster?
That the US has sent millions of dollars to help the Aids Epidemic in Africa?
not saying 'were better' but your post was a little one-sided (propaganda) on that list up there.

see what i meant in my first post? They hate us anyways and even though this is SUPPOSED to be about a cartoon, they still hate us. Thats why we get coverage about it here in the states. plus its still tragic anyways..pointless fighting

Seriously though, this situation is just extremely messed up. Killing freedom of speech just because youre offended is just plain stupid. On the other hand its not a very good idea to go into an insane asylum and start cracking jokes about the people inside.
The muslims I know think the newspaper editors a jackass but dislike the rioters even more. I guess living in poverty under a heavy handed government all your life with nothing to hold on to but religion can screw your brain up really badly.

Well I've got to admit that my comment was a very biased and one-sided, and I'm genuinely sorry if I offended you. My International Relations tutor doesnt really like the Americans and his seminars are just full of America-bashing comments.
Anyway back to the topic in hand. People have actually died now because of this, and most of them are the protestors themselves. I don't actually know what they are achieiving by burning these embassies and just goes to show that there a quite a few extremists who can be very dangerous, just in the name of their God
Anyway just think of the amount of times Jesus and God have had the piss taken out of them in the Western media, and no-one gives a toss, apart from the odd bible basher. To all the Danish people here, what is the general mood in your country with all these images of Danish embassies being torched?
