alot of people own their religion and hold it very close to their heart, and if a drawing makes them upset, then let them be upset. but to threaten violence, thats lame.

I brought this up in college today as i have a muslim peer and a danish tutor LOL
It was interesting to say the least, although i think i caused a bit of friction!!
My Great Dane tutor (god bless him :P) has planned a lesson on it tomoro for our diversity and rights class hehe

is typical of people today over reacting, you didnt notice britains lining the street burning flags when we were attacked and people killed (as an oppose to draw a cartoon)

In a Norwegian political talking show thing on thv here one of the Norwegian muslim guys said it was muh much worse to draw a cartoon like that than killing alot of people

Sera your really missing the point, its not about "who draws the most disgusting picture"
Its about the fact that nobody knew what Muhammed looked like. And to be relating him to bombings is not right. People don't relate Jesus to the killings of blacks do they.
To be perfectly honest, the actual drawing of the dude with the bomb in his turban is just silly, A) he looks russian B) alot of cultures wear turbans, so why is that offensive C) oh for goodness sake!
How many charactures are in the news papers anyway, **** me hundreds. Tony Blair is always there with his exagerated ears and cheshire cat grin!
Well we had our discussion today at college, and to be fair, it didnt last long because we felt it best to leave it be. (although we made a conclusion woot)
My muslim friend was offended and quite upset that nobody would understand why it is harsh, because muslims are reknowned for their passion of their religion. She also believes it is wrong to act so violently.
basically we concluded with a round of applause (not litterally) to the artist because lets face it, he has done his job. His job to sell the news paper. Thats what he has done.
Sorry if thats all a bit of a mish mash, but i dont really have a strong opinion either here nor there, i prefer to act the devils advocate on things like this
