No not if they know what hardstyle is no real similarities IMO. How can they say absolutely anything but no hardcore! Well bad.
Why not get loads of new energy style stuff, slow it down and say you play hard dance fast... got more chance of that working IMO.

easy, if you're into Gabber. just play Catscan styled stuff. Very industrial sounding techno. I've prolly just got enough for a set from TTM records. If you've got similar stuff youd get away with it easy.
Or if you like KFA, tunes like Belladonnakillz - Kill Bella Donna n most of the Panacea tracks would class as dnb anyday.
You wouldnt be able to play UK Freeform but you'd probably get away with the Finnish stuff. Slow it right down and it would pass as Hard NRG.

I think it's clubs in some areas dont want the crowd hardcore will bring, kinda like the no garage rule in most london clubs. Thats if it's a club competition, only other reason would be they turn there nose up at hardcore like some people do.
Is shit but at the end of the day is there liscense so is there choice, agree with durst though i couldnt be arsed unless i fancied playing trance.
Tbh you probably could get away with freeform by just calling it freeform, people arent that knowledgable about hardcore in general. I was playin breakbeat hardcore to my mate who's a house dj at a club round here and he said he'd never think of it as hardcore, freeform gets the same reaction if you dont say it's hardcore they dont no. To them hardcores just the happy stuff and they no little about any other styles or even no they exist.
