Sorry to post all these messages all over the boards. All you guys see is "xxxFRIARxxx". Anyway...
4 Questions:
1. What type of plug do mixers plug into an AMP with? (A visual description would be GREAT.)
2. What do turntables come with? Will I need to buy a needle and all that crap, or do they come with em?
3. On a turntable, when you turn up the pitch, is that turning up the tempo also? Vice versa?
4. What should I look for when buying a turntable?

Hope I can help =)
1) most mixers send out on RCA plugs, those are those 1 red and 1 white plugs hanging out of a joined wire. they have 1 long prong in the middle and a cylinder like outside that makes contact with the other unit.
2) turntables come with headshells (i think that is the right term) which connect to the tone arm. you will need to buy carts/needles. Most times you can buy turntables with the needle at a better price and attach it yourself.
3) Yes, increasing the pitch speeds up/slows down the platter with is what the record is on.
4) depends on your budget. If your going the distance go strait in with technics 1200's. if you're looking for something less pricey test it out first, touch it, feel it ;) hunt through the forums and i'm sure you'll find meany lengthy turntable threads.

usually they plug in with your standard audio cables

most come with nothing, unless of course you buy one of those dj in a box things =P

ummm yes, but it depends on the table too, for the most tables if you push the pitch up the bpm goes down
4. What should I look for when buying a turntable?
stablility, depends on what you want to use it for as well. if you can't aford technics buy a direct drive/quartz drive of something, belts are shit fir djing imo =)

Wow! Thanks for all your help you guys. That RCA tip is REALLY going to help me. (My dad gave me an amp to bring to college. It's an old kenwood KA-7100. Do you think that will produce enough power (That is if you know what it is...)) Thanks again...

Hell yeah! All I have to do now is save up the $650 dollars to buy all my stuff. (Looks at clock...) I can't wait for summer!

1. Not much I could add to this, but I found a picture for you;

2. Some do some don't... if you buy like a starter pack then you may get some included. But more often than not they're sepparate.
3. This has been answered pretty well already.
4. Stability for real. Technics SL1210's are the industry standard but I use Vestax PDXD3's because they are so god damn sexy :)

Actually, I HAVE speakers for my amp. They aren't loud speakers, but they will DEFINATELY do the job for my home practicing use. (They are a pair of BOSE 501 bookshelfs. They are loud, and deep, and produce treble very well. They will hold up nicely.)
