been looking to get a mp3 player, probably from argos (discount [@:P]) but i better price somwhere else then wherever
just wondering which ones are decent, heard ipod's are over-rated, heard mixed reviews on creative zen stuff and sony ones alike
it needs to be at least 20GB

Sony HD walkman 20gb. Purchased a 6gb for myself and im impressed, the software isnt great but when you now how to use its nice and simply.
Was going to get a creative but after reading some shocking reviews on Amazon i decided against it.

get the iriver h320, that's what i got. its very reliable and can also play fm radio, store & view pictures, watch videos with the latest firmware and also record into mp3 format.
its also availiable in argos

only problem is iriver discontinued that line. they are nice though, especially since they have a line in on them. the newer irivers you have to put in a dock in order to have a line in.
are you just wanting to play mp3s? do you want to record as well? what kind of bells & whistles do you want w/ it?

just play music. don't listen to radio, don't wanna look at pictures walking in the streets or watch a movie

Don't buy Sony - you have to convert all mp3s to ATRAC
This is as bad as iTunes IMO
iRiver is the way go. Pick up one of their cheaper current models. You can't go wrong. They have very a good reputation for build quality too.
I have the HD340 and am delighted with it! Bough it from Germany 2 months ago :)

Um. No you dont have to convert files.
Mine plays MP3, WMA or all Types of ATRAC.

Creative Zen Sleek
i have one and I love it. Light, good battery life, good sound quality. A bit pricier than the Xtra series but better in my opinion. And dont buy an iPod. Had one for 1.5 years and the battery died on me. And that battery costs.
