One of my absolute favourites. Bring it on, haters.
this is why I bumped it.
When it was first out on CXH2, it was quite the sensation and people in general were favourable towards it. Personally, I never rated it as highly as others, I never like the synthesised guitar, it didn't quite have the energy of slide away or getting better nor did it have the unique warbling awesomeness of drop zone. And the male vocals certainly did it a disservice.
Having said that it was one of the better tracks on the compilation and it was very popular.

It's one of the few of Styles' tracks from that time that I don't have on vinyl. Never really liked it. I hate the vocal and the music side of it is pretty weak imo. It's not horrible just not that good.

WORST SONG EVER
But what created all the backlash and angst against Styles and particularly this track was when he slowed it down and released it as a dance track. It did very well in the charts too.
I'm not certain why people hated him for it so much, the reason commonly giving was that he was selling out and just going for the easy money, as if that is some heinous crime. Personally, I think it was either because it confirmed for the haters that hardcore was now just sped up dance music or that people could no longer pretend that it wasn't sped up dance music and had to admit the haters were right.
