Your not the first that has made that mistake, I take it your from US, since thats probably the only place where the word Hardcore is referred to punk's subgenre ;)
Also just to clear it up its not Techno Hardcore, Techno is one genre and Hardcore is another totally diffrent genre :p If you want to use a name that doesnt mix with Punk's subgenre, you can say e.g. "Hardcore Dance".
Anyway, in the electronic music genre Hardcore, gabbers mosh as far as i know, so it wasnt totally of. You might actually like Dutch Hardcore, tune in there to try it out -> Masters of Hardcore Radio or Japanese stuff at Hardcore Osaka.
