As regards the pick up comment.... I can't speak for Australia, but certainly in the UK that sort of attitude does seem to work due to the errrrm shall we say les selective nature of many of the girls present in the pubs/bars/clubs on a Friday/Saturday night in town..... ironically I find alot (not the majority though) of UK girls out on the town over here to be as bad as the drooling blokes.
