why is hardcore named after porn im curious as to how it got its name

I did think that at one time, then I realised it's probably because it's the hardest fastest style of music and because it's followers are die hard fans, plus it's hard to it's core hence the name Hardcore. Atleast IMO. There is atleast one more meaning can't be bothered to explain as well.

It's not named after porn :) The word Hardcore doesn't neccesarily directly relate to porn at all, it's just a general term :)

Hardcore music is not named after porn, porn is named after hardcore music! 
I still like the name hardcore, except I cant listen to it at school because of the name :(

Well, Hardcore means intense and extreme. Thats where it came from.... for instance when they talk about hardcore muslim radicals on the news they're not talking about Taliban Porn, and likewise its not Banghra played at 170bpm with distorted kicks and tablas
