I've written (and sung) the lyrics for a couple of my releases. I prefer using original vocals to using acappellas. I've not used any acappellas to this date actually, and I am not planning on using any unless it's a remix or if it really suited to the track. Original vocals make a track stand out, I think. There's already so much "ripping" going on, vocal-wise as well as riff-wise, why not write your own stuff?

Hardcore = Genre of music (& many other things).
Upfront Hardcore = Sub genre of Hardcore.
Upfrontcore = Made up abbreviation of Upfront Hardcore.
Softcore = Made up sub genre of Hardcore (& soft porn). It was made up by evil who posted a FAKE compilation on this site describing it to be softcore.

I write lyrics and so does my girlfriend. We have done one tune using my girlfriends lyrics but really we need a proper recording mic (we have a crappy £10 piece of crap ;)) my girlfriend is going To get some vocal coaching as well, I would love to get some vocal coaching myself but currently have no time to spare :(.

I often write lyrics out of pleasure and to get things off my chest, but as of yet I do NOT record.

What I write is from a vocal point of view and an MC point of view with Intros, Chorus, Main Verses etc... Just the lyrics, not melodies...

I am currently working on finalising some stuff and sending it out to a few people who have already spoke to me about it, just to see what they think. I am not expecting any major response to my work. I personally think I have no talent, but it would be nice to see what other people think. Maybe I will surprise myself.

I tend to write a lot of happy clappy stuff, although recently I have been exploring the darker side of the core too.

I will PM you some stuff soon.

CJ
