Why don't you try doing what Bang! did?
Get verybody who wants a copy to pre-order one, if there is enough people to make the album financially viable then release it.

ETA is March 2006.

"theres not a massive amount of variation compared to other album"

There are a lot of Darwin tunes, I admit, but since he's been inexplicably passed over for 5 major compilations in a row there's a lot of stuff that needs showcasing.

It's still more varied than most compilations, despite being "in house". That's more a scathing commantary than a boast, though. Heh.

How was Hardcore Nation shit? Was it because it wasn't cookie cutter hardcore for the masses? Was it shit because it was meant to be fun to listen to? Was it because Scott Brown/Hixxy/Styles/Breeze didn't have anything to do with it? It showcased alot of tunes by a couple of DJ's that aren't on every compilation on the planet. If WOW 10 is going to showcase different talent and still rocks and is fun to hear, sign me up for a purchase, if it however is the same as every other cd on the market right now, then count me out. I guess I put it across like that because I'm biased but oh well. The re-hashed ScottBreezeHixxyStyles Cd's that come out every day are getting old.

erm excuse me mr ritalin...if you think im a breeze and styles fanatic then your mistaken.

when have i ever wrote tht am a more commercial style hardcore fan???infact my favourite cd on hn1 was robbie long whom i think deserved an album mix long before hn1.

just because i dnt like something hcore doesnt mean its because hixxy or scott brown are not plastered all over the cds....

im more into freeform nowadays than regular hardcore but am an open minded person and will give owt a listen if placed infront of me

I'm not stating that you are a commercial fanatic, but i'm stating that it isn't shit, also that it was a step aside from what was in the mainstream at the time. Hardcore Nation wasn't Robbie Longs first mix cd either by the way, he aslo did the Hectech Classics cd, if you like his style find it and give it a listen, it's good as well. I'm biased towards the Thin n Crispy sound at the moment and find that it gets my dancefloors jumpin and dancing away more than the other more softer less happy hardcore that I have in my box. I was brought up on happy hardcore and attempt to find tunes that fit the happier side of things. Thats what I meant by stating the Scott/breeze/hixxy/styles cd fest thats happening right now, very rarely does anyone release a "happy" hardcore cd anymore.

i've changed my stance really on commericialism, just 6 months ago or so i was on about how it is a good thing but then again i was a huge n00bie (now i'm just a regular n00b). i've realised that once this happens the power of the scene isn't in many hands combined but very few hands such as the label executives like resist and crap that won't push new people through as they could careless about the scene and are just wanting to milk as much money out of it as possible while it lasts.

for the DJ's and producers that have some power over the scene seeing as they need to make a living out of it, instead of trying to keep the scene fresh, alive and stop it from going stagnant by overplaying repetitive sounds and showcasing new producers on their CD's they just keep pushing their own records to sell so they get money. same with event organisers, to make sure they sell as many tickets as possible and make as much money as they can they just book the same ten DJ's over and over and over....

2006 will be the downfall of hardcore for another few years like last time until someone else pushes a new sound which will get milked for all it's worth and another down patch will follow. the possibility of making money from the scene will always be it's downfall

back on topic: pacm0n had a good idea, see how many pre-releases you can muster up to see if you can be any point releasing it or not CDJay. wish you all the best and who knew in your replies you were going to be sarcastic and satirical........

Aye i see your point towards the end of this year i've been to two raves where i really thought the hardcore was shit bar 1 or 2 sets. I dunno if thats necessarily a bad thing though cos especially at slammin looked like 1000's others love what i'm bored of or hate. It's not all like that at all anyway they may be a bit harder to find or you might need to travel but there's a lot of smaller events really catering for good music, i mean look at freeformation lineup last night for example theres enough good raving to be done if you make the effort.

I'm defo not in a hurry to attend any of the massive hardcore events in near future so tbh dont really care if it goes down in popularity or not, theres good points to both as last time hardcore disappeared from mainstream a lotta good things happened. On other hand i've got lotta good mates from ravin that have only got into hardcore last couple years, people moan scenes gettin filled with dicks but it's pickin up a lotta crackin people aswell who start with commercial stuff then move on. Same way most of us did so cant be a bad thing. Not all the big names stuffs shit either it's jus got boring to a lot've people cos of same sounds used.
