Why they call it happy hardcore? Because it gives you happy feelings.
True it doesn't sound the same as it did in the mid 90's (Thinking about Scooter - Our happy hardcore).
But I myself do not call it happyhardcore, I call it UK Hardcore or Upfront Hardcore.
*from DI.fm site anout the hardcore channel, again*
"As the majority of tracks and CD's being produced these days is upfront hardcore, you will find that the channel contains about 80% of it."
In the end, who cares what the music is called? =)

I ask my self that all the time..."why do people still call it happy hardcore?" Why? Theonly thing close to hhc is sy and unkown (stuff from the qoush label) But its not hhc in its truest form! So why? is it b/c its mainstream and thats all they know?? Its actually really annoying. It s like saying trance is techno...

Dude, seriously, thats a PORN genre for christ sake. If it wouldnt be hard enough to be Hardcore, it would Euro Trance or some other Dance genre. Using false genre names is just really stupid.

UKr4veR, I have a question. Do you like any of the music being produced these days? If you do, you might understand how music can produce emotions. These emotions could possibly be called happy. If the music you were listening to was particularly fast and hard, maybe, just maybe, one might call it Happy Hardcore.
As much as the sound of hardcore progresses, the feeling it attempts to inspire in person should not die out.
So, if the sound of hardcore in the mid 90's made you happy, it was happy hardcore, if the sound of hardcore in 2005 makes you happy, why should it not be called "Happy Hardcore?"
I do agree with you however. The sound of hardcore today is quite different than it was back in the mid-90's, but people who refer to hardcore as Happy Hardcore should not be ridiculed, and a post about this is rather trivial.
