Hey thanks for getting back to me, this is gonna be a smaller night! But thinking 1 headliner DJ & MC! Who would you suggest to would be great for a good starter? And how much should we charge on the door abouts? We looked into Scott Brown, but there is Dougal, Hixxy etc etc! So could do with some advice! Any other help to [email protected] would be ace.
Thanks Nos

Hi welcome to the board
Basically if i were you i would do a couple of residents nights to begin with to test the waters. You dont want to be forkin out £600 plus for a headliner if you aren't sure you can break even on the door (believe me i know). Make sure you have a bit of money behind you first and remember a lot of agencies will lower fees if it is a small venue (however if a better offer comes along they will take it.
As for door charge look at breaking even and not making a fortune. Look at the price of you dj's, Club Hire, Promotion costs (flyers/posters etc...) and then do the maths based on club capacity (never take it that it will sell out).
Sorry if i've put a downer on things but i've been running nights for about three years and those are the easiest things to get stung on if no one tells you.
Good luck mate its a tough old game but make sure your doin it cos you love the music and the scene and you will be just fine.
P.S if you need a dj i've been mixing hardcore for about 9 years now and i'm always happy to help people out PM me if your interested.

The two best ways to get fliers out are record shops and handing them out after raves. As for websites it don't cost anything so hit as many as you can.
If your looking for Dj's I'll do a set for you ;) I can mix very well and am well known around where I live (which is not far from Milton Keynes) so I could pull in some people for it. Let me know if your interested and I'll sort you a demo, can mix ANY type of hardcore you want.
