Happy hardcore wasn't harder either it had happy melodies and fair enough it had a hard a kick but the bass is much harder now so...

"Hardcore is a generic term, used to describe something more extreme than mainstream versions."
What makes it more extreme then the mainstream can be the happy, speed, hard, dark etc side of the music. Witch is kind of funny, cause going by the term, when Hardcore becomes mainstream, its not "Hardcore" anymore :p

my least favorite djs are a local house dj because he's just an ass in general and slags anything to do with hardcore/jungle & a local 'hardcore' dj who plays mixed cds, doesn't beatmatch, and yet he gets booked =P
