Right i saw this for the first timelast night and I quite enjoyed it. The whole feel of the film (ie comic) is done really well imo.
I was slightly confused in a couple of places though. Like why did michael madson shoot hartigan (willis) when he was trying to save the girl? Just so he didnt kill roarke?
And how come when hartigan gave the confession they released him from jail ("yes I did rape that girl" "oh ok ur free to go" wtf!). Was it so that he would lead the yellow bastard to Nancy?
Not really important parts of the film but was something I was pondering last night

Corrupt cop.He was in on it and didnt Roarke to die, he set Hartigan up, and shot he him because of what Hartigan did to him.

He was only in jail because he didn't confess in the first place, they started to get suspicious of the letters, and tricked him into thinking Nancy was dead and made him confess. He was released just to lead Roarke to Nancy.
I love the Sin City film, and theme music. The way they direct is amazing, best film I have seen in ages. Roll on Sin City 2 :D

I really really wanna see this film.
I'm gonna rent it out next week, it hasn't exactly been getting rave reviews has it, but they're damn good enough.

great film my favourite storyline was marv's, also gave me the delight of seeing elijah wood get killed w00t, hate that little smelly hobbit
basically they never set a caught date and just left him in prison to rot because senator roark wanted him to pay for blowing his sons nads off and denying him a grandson. also i ain't sure is bob (madsen) was in on it, just scared of what would happen to them both if they killed the senator's son. i think the whole police force is afraid of roark's power as i very much doubt everyone of them ar in on it as willis implicates
Bob: I'm gonna get on the horn and wait for back-up. We're gonna wait for back-up!
John Hartigan: Sure, Bob. You'll call for back-up. And we'll sit on our hands while that Roark brat gets his sick thrills from viction number four. Victim number four! Nancy Callahan. Age 11. She'll be raped and slashed to ribbons. And that back-up we're waiting on will just happen to show up late enough to let Roark get back home to his U.S. Senator daddy and everything will be fine until Junior gets the itch again.
either way great film

Your right. Bob's just another everyday Sin City cop, no more corrupt than the rest of them.
I really like the whole Sin City theme. I've read the first 3 series (Sin City, A Dame To Kill For and The Big Fat Kill) all really good. I'm quite excited about A Dame To Kill For in Sin City 2, seemingly Salma Hayek is playing Ava. Marv vs Manute is gonna be awesome viewing!
