Firepower was my last mix. It's been a little more than half a year since I've recorded a mix. This one was made especially for my first out of state gig in Arizona. I wanted to make a mix to give out to people there to enjoy. They appeared to love my set but I haven't gotten any replies about the CD I gave out. It's been almost 2 weeks and I've finally fixed it up (normalizing, fixing max-out pops, etc.) and uploaded it for everyone online to enjoy.
>>DJ Comet - Power UP :: 70.8 MB // 77:21min // 128kbps
This mix contains a lot of unreleased stuff by my friends and some better known artists as well. I wanted to progress from happier more uplifting stuff into more mellow downlifting tunes and I think I did it well.
There are a couple things I'm not happy with about this mix but I'm sure no one will notice. However, I'm really proud of this mix even though it was planned and mixed in 2 days. I haven't really been happy with a mix since Twice the Hardcore. Enjoy!

Quality mix.
I can see your alot like me with your mix's, no matter how hard you try, you feel their's always room for improvment.
I like the sound quality you have, very crisp, something the UK DJ's don't always have.
I kind of get the impression your just going through the motions somewhat, I would love to hear a mix of yours which is pure passion, I think if you can get that mix down, then you'll be unbeatable.

Well, I really don't think of it as, "just going through emotions". In my opinion, being a DJ takes much more than just learning how to beatmatch. It's more like writing a book or a movie. You want to take the listener through a series of emotions to display tell a story. I hear too many DJs that just mix song into song and even just play anthems. I like (or at least try) to mix smoothly from one emotion to another rather than just have it blatantly show it. Only a few people have appreciatted my style of mixing and it's good to know some of those people exist.
Thank you about the comment on the quality. I'm very picky about everything (not just mixing) so over the years I've improved my setup to have a good quality output. Not many people tend to notice this from me so I'm glad you did, even though it's a 128kbps quality mp3. Hehe.

I said, the motions, I don't mean to offend, I just felt you lacked passion to some extent.
It's a great mix, nice and clean for the most part, I like the sound that you have, just personally, I feel that you need more feeling in the mix...
But who am I to say, I'm shite on the decks.

Thanks for everyone's compliments. :) It's been awhile since my last mix so I don't come out with them a lot recently. I hope this holds you off until the next one. :D

I really enjoyed this mix...Really like the track selection. I've had it on repeat while messing around with Photoshop for the past few days. I highly recommend it to be downloaded if you haven't done so already..
*two thumbs up*
