It's a VOIP thing like Jabber had but now it's live. It's very cool and works great.
All you need is a gmail account and a mic!

Hmm I am a gamer so no I don' t use it, I use teamspeak...
It's gay when u have to have a gmail account IMO...

paltalk is proberly the best messenger device and its been out for 6years
having a room full of ppl with video and voice chat, and still having being able to send files and chat privatly (offline list also)
Im glad google have there own messenger, but I doubt it will become huge, too many americans still using AOL (there sooo slow)

i'm not one of those people who'd say, "i just want a car that gets me to where i need to go" but what's so slow about Americans and their use of AOL? i really don't care who the internet provider is...just as long as i can browse the web, send nd recieve emails, listen to music, and instant message.
so what is this thing u lot r talking about??
some chat program thing with voice and cam? you can do that on MSN...yea.
oh and faceparty is cool too i suppose. ye have your own profile wiv your pics and what not and you can go into chat rooms and look at other people's profiles...yup. (i luv myspace though. cooler people.)

g-talk is simple. Its sleek and doesn't have all the emo/teeny bopper crap that MSN does. I hate "winks".
I prefer trillian though. Its got a stack of plugins, its nice looking (read: easily skinnable) and automatically keeps logs in a simple txt file.
MSN....drives me up the wall. AIM/ICQ....is just as bad. I started using ICQ in like 97-98, but I find its just crap.

aol instant messenger is the worst... i hate it its sooo annoying i cant turn off that goddamn sound when people log in and the door opens and shut. i have a lot of contacts there so i gotta keep it.
im like working on a project/track and all of a sudden i hear a door shut real loud it drives me nuts. i even tried going to a much earlier version of it but i gave up.
msn is retarded 2 cause mine cannot be closed it just says that no matter how many times i close it that another program is using it but i cant find what. and it just ***** up.
i used to have zango its ice aim and msn all in one and it was cool but it busted and started throwing error messages all the time.....
gonna try gtalk
