yea,so my hard drive jst packed in on my laptop....no backups of anything]
***** really sucks baws more than i imagined.
i havnt even broke it to my mum yet...she had all the fotos of the house joined onto ours in it...we wer forced to but it and are currently ripping it out,and rebuilding it to eliminate dry rot...she really wanted those picktures...they wer keeping her spirits up in this pretty impossible task....man,gutted,she had done so much,without even the help of a labour of any sort...(she a handyman,type woman lol)...photos of every stage of process...they were to show her how much shed achieved.
plus couple thousand of my fav makina tracks,and every pastis and buenri set i had.
oh and evey music production tool i had
oh and every southpark vid
oh and every family guy
oh and pictures of me and all my mates,and i was to give a copy of em to my best mate who moves to spain next week
and so so so so much more i cant even picture yet.
what a complete bastard.....and you just no that theres something ive not even thought of yet,that will bug me even more than all that put together!
next weeks lottery numbers or some shite....ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That truly blows dogs for quarters... but if you know somebody with the skills, maybe, just hopefully you could look into having that data recovered somewhat. Do you know exactly how it conked out?

was having problems with it overheating,so was in proces of deleting all the stuff i didnt use when it conked...
its with a girl i knows dad who builds computers...my disk was split into 2 from factory,and he found everything on the second drive,,,unfortunately,all that is,is 23 'german trance' (special d,simialr groups) and 3 videos af me and my mates snorting charlie off my dining room table....hmmm,wonder if ill be allowd to speak to his daughter again lolll

I know how it is man, I once lost 2 weeks worth of scripts, for this one site which was my big project for the month, and i lost it all, but me mate who does java programming, scanned my reformated HDD, and found the scritps again!!!!

PCstats (which is a very good site about computers n stuff btw) did an article about HD data recovery.
Not sure if it'll help any but I thought you might want to give it a look.
My friend accidently formatted her backup drive once (kind of my fault  ) and she managed to get pretty much everything back out again.

that sucks, that's why I have multiple harddrives and back most all of my work up on dvds...I learned the hard way as well =P

cheers all... no that way,ive had couple of hours to think about it and its made me think positively
few changes on my new hard drive...been bobbing away to the american hardcore show,made me think am gona fill ma comp with a few more of new takes on the oldies,as ive heard a few id forgotten.....
and as me and baldo wer sayin other day,dont really seem as tho makinas goin anywhere now...no new releases etc... 
so yea....new hard drive,new ideas an that....
gona do production bit properly...
bit more diversity in my choons!
(yess including trance and gabba baldo!)
shit happens ae?!
dont get me wrong,would love all my new makina back...most the old stuff can pretty much suck my balls as its been played that much my children will be born with it inbedded in there brains.

I feel your pain, man. I lost my hard drive a few years back to a nasty little virus. My girlfriend at the time had all of her work projects on there, She was piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiisssed.
She turned out to be psychotic anyway, so it all worked out in the end.
