We all hate it, and now its not only controlling a generation on how to think and what to wear its now tell kids music has to have words for it to "qualify" as music, as sad as it seems its true, My girfirends sister (14 ideal age for MTV) who watches MTV, relgiously every day. Said to me when I gave her some hardcore listen to "This isint music" so i ask y she replies "music must have words in it" , and when she said that, i cried inside, and wanted to break her damn TV, But always watch out for the enemy, MTV

Yeah i never really bothered with MTV much so i guess i saved myself from the same fate as your girlfriend's sister.
As for what she said, music definately does not have to have words in it to be music. I mean look at hardcore, it gets through to so many people on such a deep level. Its music and its a culture!!

some people are just like that, they prefer to have lyrics with their music. I know people who listen to hardcore (maybe because I make them) and enjoy it but prefer to be able to sing along with their favorite songs.

I hate having to flip through one music channel after another hoping to find something else besides rap music videos (that seem all alike to me) featuring half-naked girls with everything bouncing about...with guys all on top of them and what not. And I feel like throwing my radio out the window because it's the same deal! What's with the lack of variety of music being aired and shown on our television sets??
and about MTV, the only MUSIC show on it is like...TRL or something. Everything else if reality shows and other bollox; which I happen to watch (-->Real World - Austin and MTV's that 70's House or whatever).

MTV is crap! Music doesn't have to have lyrics that’s B.S. that would mean that classical music, and orchestras aren't music! So there you have it its B.S. I tell you what isn't music half the crap they play on MTV.
