Ipods are wayyyy expensive. I have a Creatice Nomad Zen Xtra 40gb. 40gb is over enough but I like that extra room. I have about 5000 songs of all genres on there.

its all good mate, i think we're on the same page but you kinda misunderstood what i said ;)
what I meant by "apple label" was the image the company is trying to present.. the "hip and coolness" of having an iPod when really they're technologically inferior to the other companies ( their freaking batteries are a bizotch to replace x.x, my sister's Zen micro has freaking removable batteries.. ugh)
some people buy iPods cause they don't know better or know of alternatives (anyone seen iRiver, Creative, or Rio advertising? anyone seen Apple advertising?), other's buy them cause its "cool" to have one

I love my silver ipod mini 6GB. Take it out running with me every night 9/10 times playing hardcore (favourite for running is Next Gen: The collection V.2) alto recently have been listening to Cliffraves mixes (200bpm) and MAN I run fast to those ;)
I get great battery life, awsome sound quality (I work for an electronics store and imho ipods sound better than the alternatives (iriver, sony, creative). Plus it looks really cool.
Our customers have had quite a few problems with creative gear (admittidly the older stuff) but given the quantity of ipods we sell (5x the other brands put together) we have very few problems. And when they do play up, Apple have been very good and have usually just replaced the unit. *bigup*

Yet to buy anything portable, but the i-rivers do support HappyHardcore.com radio so that is sweet... I think I will wait until the next generation of portable players have WiFi built in.
it's all hardcore.
