heh, i was just thinking about starting one of these topics.

I have 6x9 400w pioneer 4 way spks in the back
6" 350w 4 way pioneer spks in the front doors
those get powered by an alpine 4x400w amp

2 boss 1000w 12" subs in the boot powered by an 1500w mono block alpine v12

im pleased with it, need to get a bigger alternator though its not cool to have up full when you are driving, headlights dip with the beat kinda cronic.

I have a three year old, so no car system for me. I've found that hardcore does not sound good in a car system because the bass is too close together

for music upwards of of 150 bpm, it's better to have 10" than 12" or 15" subs. they are better for punchy bass and can still pick up lower frequencies of bass in dnb type stuff.

but it also depends on how big your car is, how new your car is, and how much you are willing to spend

I just got the ones that come with the car from the looks the size of em is like 8" 2 front and 2 rear and then some tweets in the front as well although it actually sounds quite nice im gonna add 2 10" subs in the back for a bit of extra bass once i've finished paying for the car!

Would definately agree with Brian K big car subs aint to hot for hardcore there best for rumble basslines just use the money saved on gettin 10" ones to get some real good quality ones that can pack a punch and you'll be away.

I assume that’s a max output rating and not continuous because that would be one damn expensive set-up that would shake your house to pieces! If it is continuous you must have some very angry neighbours my mate has over a 3k system in his bedroom but that’s built up with 2 double peaveys, 4 jbl's + monitors with 3 amps powering the lot and he gets complaints from people like half a road up!
