i cannot believe it this morning wen i logged onto hhc.com and saw the news that clubland x-treme hardcore has reached number 1 in the national charts! i even checked out the bbc website and its there, number 1!
this is a landmark for hardcore i reckon, 'and i kno, it keeps on gettin' better!' (just thought id add that random bit of tune) personally i have always wanted hardcore to get the recognition it deserves and i think that its happening. obv there are sum that will disagree and say nooo, this is terrible, hardcore is soon going to merge with commercial trance. well i dont think so. if producers take heed of how successful the recent hardcore albums have been (hardcore heaven, hardcore nation, C E H) they will know not to change their style to fit the popularity. wot was that famous quote again?? oh yeah... 'we will not compromise quality for popularity amongst the minority'..well the ways things are going, hardcore may soon not be a minority :-D

I think it's good thing that hardcore is getting noticed again, and on a big stage, wow.
The only gripe i have with the clubland album, is the fact that it only had a few artists/labels on it, it would have been better if their had been a wider variety of music/styles/labels.
Who knows tho, maybe for no 2??

I'm more disappointed that Bonkers doesnt have as much underground talent.
I do know that "HT3" will. I reckon its gonna kick Bonkers sorry ass too.

But know that while you may shut down any given party on any given night,in any given city,in any given country or continent you can never shut down the entire party.no matter what you may think. The music will never stop. The heartbeat will never fade,

Absolutely wicked that hardcore has FINALLY got to the top spot!!!!
I know I keep raving (ahem!) about how it's all trancey and it's not the same as it used to be, but if they released a Clubland which was full of the older sounding stuff - you know, proper "rave", it wouldn't have got to number 1.
Who knows? maybe I could be proved wrong with Hardcore Nation 2?
At the end of the day, if hardcore does ever go "overground", people will eventually tire of it and it would fade away back down to the underground again, and we'd all still be here, along with a lot of new faces.
Best. News. Ever.

Raverbaby sound is the popular out reach for hardcore to the masses.
Its unlikely a huge company will press 50,000 cd's which artists who bring a different sound of hardcore (luna-c and robbie long come to mind)
I find it funny that when bonkers comes out, there seems to be 10+ sites dedicated to bootlegging the mp3s, yet with these commercial cd's, the "non hardcore" fans seem to be more supportive then the hardcore bootleggers, who think its there right to "sample" cd's
