They're talking about production here, not DJing. There are a lot more female DJs than female producers. In my opinion gender doesn't matter, though. It's all about putting emotion into your tracks and producing decent tunes for people to enjoy.

Apparently Abeyance is on about leaving the scene to become a teacher, or at least she's training to be one. So that may well be one less.
