Ok so i just came on the website and noticed yet another Hardcore advert will be released soon.

Is it just me or does the increased commercialism of Hardcore bother anyone else. Im worried that it will be over exposed and too many people will flood the scene with second rate hardcore and destroy it. Look what happened with the trance scene and all the crap DJ's that came with it

I know its the old story of wanting to be into something not many people are into, so I suppose im just gonna have to accept it.

Just wanted to rant a bit "stay away from our hardcore"

So did the "over exposure" in the early 90's hurt it?

No need for that. How many times you run to the shop to buy the latest pop CD, when you see an advert of it? The commercials only effect the "potential" customers, people that might not use internet to search new hardcore releases and wouldnt hear about the album other ways etc.

Was at school yesterday before my i saw there advert, and a mate came up to me (who has no computer) and said "luce you seen that new hardcore cd it looks really good i cant wait till it comes out - personally i think its good. The only time i hate it when things go commercial is when its a shite remix. And blatently ruins the choonage.

Commercialism means some cash for the artists / producers and all the hard work they put in. If the scene was totally underground some of the DJ s would be woking for nothing or next to nothing.
There is also a buzz to be had playing to something that is popular, to dedicated fans.

But agreed over commericialisation causes crapness.

nothing wrong with a bit of advertising, it helps the scene grow and keeps it alive. there will always be people trying to rip off hardcore tracks e.g flip&fill and the guy who did 'pretty green eyes'

the problem with keeping things underground is that they can die too easily, letting people know it exists keeps it alive and helps it grow stronger

no sh*t, who cares if it goes commercial. maybe then some dj's might get paid. big deal if shite dj's come about. there are shite dj's in the hardcore scene now and no one seems to care. anyone heard a happy2bhardcore cd lately? he is a shite dj and people buy his stuff up like it's the only hardcore on the planet. have commercial hardcore. the true underground hardcore community would still be underground right? don't go to commercial venues if they bother you. HTID, Hardcore Heaven, Hullabaloo (when it was around) are getting so big that the could be construed as commercial.

I too am tired of this topic, it seems that only noobs post these anyway.

don't stand and stare, just kick your legs in the air

Yeh, it pisses me and all my mates off aswell, but its somethin that just happens, in a way the same has happened with everyother music genre.
If it does come more and more commercial atleast we can say weve been listenin to it from the start.
