Hi everyone,

Ive just registered to the site and so i thought id drop in to say hello. What a cool site, i wish it was around in the early-mid 90's when i used to go raving.

Now the reason i joined was because i was cleaning out my old room back at my parents house one day and came across loads of glow sticks/flyers and photos from the many many raves i used to go to every week/month and it brought back so many wicked memories. Now those were the days and in the years of going, not once did i encounter any trouble of any kind, just friendly smilie faces. I then dug out my old tape packs and spent the day playing them and found that some of the tracks still sent shivers down my spine so i did a search online and... whallah!!!... Happyhardcore.com. To my amazment ive found that some DJ's are still remixing the ones from years ago + also some newer improved tracks thus i really want to start it all up again and get my arse to some events. I did hear that the old warehouse buildings in milton keynes where the helterskelter events took place closed down, just wondered if this was true? and if so where are they held now instead??

The music has always stuck firmly with me as i still have my old vinyl and decks and i still believe that hardcore events are the best parties to date, none of this clubbing crap. Has much/if anything changed over the years... ??

Cheers guys

Never let it die!!

The only thing you'll find different is the 15 year old geeks and nerds joining the scene :P

i.e. me

other than that: the only thing diff is we're going the way of trance, and all the new stuff is mostly trancey. Breakbeat is still here, its just taken a hit in popularity.

wow, hope you arent too depressed by the state of things today - dont get me wrong there are lots of genuine people around but there are also lots of bitching/moaning keyboard ravers that have forgotten what they got into it for (or maybe got into it for the wrong reasons)

But yeah . .if you look a bit harder you'll see the real hardcore , and its a great scene if you know where to look!

Well thanks guys for the wicked replies. Every Hardcore fanatic i have ever met have been really friendly and this, coupled with the music are what its all about, none of this keyboard moaning buisness, cant be dealing with that. I really hope it hasnt changed too much since i used to go though as that would be so sad as the 90's were the best times of my life so far.. Think i will visit Leisure Plaza Complex in keynes on the next one and get back to it. I thought it might be heading toward the trance side of things, whilst i dont dislike abit of trance (power trance more my flavour) it aint my first pick and i do prefer the older stuff except maybe scot brown's newer tracks which are pretty dam good.

Just been listening to 4-tune-fairtales:- my little fantasy.. and its one of many many many tracks that get me going. Its funny how when you hear tracks you can remember the moments of what you were doing + who you were with when you first heard them.

A few others which quickly come to mind are:-

Bang-Cloudy Daze,
Cant stop raving,
Nakatomi (free-magic potion for love),
Triple J - have it all
Visa - All i need
Re-con and Flux- free again
Jason B - Nothing is forever
Hyperaktive - let me play
Bodyslam
Bizzare Inc - playing with knives
Ellis Dee Project - rock to the max
Ratpack tracks - searching for my rizzla/captain of the ship etc etc
--And how can i forget force and styles and all their sorted stuff... Amazing!!

Just a few of the so many superb tracks that were classics in their own right and kept me coming back.

Ive also been looking for 1 track in particular for ages which was played at cardiff CIA arena (DEVOTION:1996) on news-years eve. Now i know its a long shot but i can remember dancing to it and it started with a kind of Egyption theme then got faster and faster till there was a audible car skid and a kind of crash then the beat stops and carries on a sort time after. Sorry but thats all i can rememeber.. Any of you guys know what im on about? It would be brilliant if you could name it as ive been trying to think of it since that night which is abit of a pain. It aint the best track in the world but it goes on forever and i almost died cos i couldnt breath after it LoL!!!

Cheers guys.

Old Skool baby!!

I don't know about dassfisken but I think Hixxy, Breeze and Styles are all decent DJ's, not trancey shit. I prefer Re-con and Dougal thouhg.
