i think that HH has progressed from back in its day in 95, you still get the old skool happy classics with the piano riffs in them. But you also get dj's like scott brown banging out some hard and nasty tunes, that shows the music is moving with the time.

i think makina is the happiest thing about at the moment...
id love to see more variety. . . tunes that sound totally different to each other but still mixable, tunes that incorporate both dance music and traditional music but still maintain happy/energetic/hectic/bouncy vibe...

The happy hardcore and Hardcore scene changes like the weather.I am a big fan of the hardcore scene from 93-96 was a great time for varied hardcore tunes.Hardcore became happier round about mid 94 early 95 which was good for the scene. You could go to a Rezerection or a Helter Skelter and have 15-20 DJs all playing different styles from Bouncy techno,Happy Hardcore,Hardcore and Gabber which was great it kept people intrested in the scene.Though in most cases when you get to many DJs doing a good thing you get others remixing it time after time.Which gives you the death of the hardcore scene in 98.Either people had moved on to other styles which was then hard house and trance.Or was it because there was no longer any variation in the hardcore scene anymore.Everything was starrting to sound the same.Which leads me back to now to the Bonkers albums which is the album most ravers will buy.Yes you get 3-4 cds with each album but to me from Bonkers 9 to now there is no real variation its a happy hardcore album for happy hardcore fans which in my view is heading back to the ways of 98.
These are only my views and i realise every 1 will have different views but this is the way i see things.

I think the uplifting stuff is really happy and it makes me feel good, it even makes my eyes feel good when I looked at my arms as I typed this! Bouncy isn't as fast as I would have it if I could. I love when life is tweaking. Think of all the tweakers and how DOWN they are bringing the vibes. I like when the music is so very fast. That's partly because I know it's so happy. I don't need big builders (tee he he) the darker, the more rhythm. WHITE GLOVE POSSEES!!!

well, happy hardcore..well i haven't heard any really actual consistant happy hardcore..alli hear is freeform and trance-core and upfront hardcore or whatever and well its kinda annoying just how happy hardcore in the early 90's was just producing happy piano riffs and thats all that was coming from that genre well now its happening to the hardcore and i think we need a even amopunt of manic happy hardcore and hardcore i think alot of the djs need to go back to there roots and we need an even amount of happy hardcore and hardcore*

Sorry mate, Hardcore these dayz is very varied from gabba type slow hard to more the more modern melodic trancey stuff (Remembering The Time being a great track).
When I was 14 back in 1994 (how old does that make me now?) some hardcore tracks were pretty good but there was a lot of cheese.
The hardcore of 1996 started to kill the scene and by 1998 it was RIP hardcore. It had just run out of ideas, just shite. Some tracks, pitched voices and crap piano just make yer wanna puke.
Thankfully it ain't like that now much more variety and ideas, dark, happy, energetic, mad, bangin, ****ed up, breathing new life into dead trance bollocks from the past few years that most people are sick of.

I've been listening to Hardcore in all it's forms since back in 89. For me 92 - 95 was where it was happening. I didn't particularly like it when Happy Hardcore and Drun n Bass split apart, as it mean't that tracks were more defined and pigeonholed. Tracks like In Complete Darkness, which mixed the best things about drum and bass and happy hardcore, are now a thing of the past.
The other thing I noticed about Happy Hardcore is that after about 96 you never heard many tracks with the fast breakbeat snare drum sound, which I love. Those horrible cheesy tunes (mostly put out by Dj Vibes it seems) like 'Hey Jude' and 'I Just Died in your arms tonight' they helped turn a few people away.
Still, I'm still listening to the hardcore stuff, and Drum and Bass, and I'll make sure my kids listen to it as well!!!
Keep the vibe alive!!!
