freeform is experimental hardcore, or hardcore using old jungle/breakbeat breakdowns, and still keeping the 4-beat as a general ground

I'm gonna twist what "the K man" said.

"Trancecore" has been since 1996, when Sharkey and Billy Daniel Bunter (with others, so dont flame me) started playing around, which ended with BDB doing hard trance while Sharkey keept playing around and starting doing more upfront and nunrg. Most producers who has done freeform are the newcomers from 1999+ (stargazer, uplift, clsm with more). I know most started earlier, but not everyone of them had a release prior to 2000.

and Kinoko, Ishkur only has TWO types of Hardcore in his guide, the last time i checked, he doesn't even cover newskool bounce (sy & unknown).
I'm not dissing Ishkur, he has a bloody nice guide, and he made me into amphient Italo Disco (Jean-Michel Jarre for example).

----- "<- wth is this, a line?"

I will be back and stumping a site for ya

Seconded, complete idiot

That site would be 5000% better if it didnt contain opinion, obviously its his guide, so he can put what the hell he wants into it, but a guide with no opinion would be so so much better. Trying to have a guide which insults styles of music is stupid in my eyes, the guys a dick.

Oli G, I'll have to disagree with you on that because I love his comments!! On another note, I still don't understand why all of you think the epic trancy hardcore is in the same genre as the more acid hardcore. What is the deal?? They sound different imo.

To clear things up:

Kinokoboy calls gammer/clsm (and other upfront hardcore) "trancecore", and thats why he says it's different then freeform.

because when you say trancecore, everything thinks you're talking about '97 billy bunter tunes.

Yeah...I know that...and what I mean to tell people is that calling something "trancy hardcore" sounds stupid...imo it should be called trancecore and I personally don't care if 97' billy bunter material was called trancecore. Whenever I hear trance and hardcore produced together I think its okay to call it trancecore.

Ishkur is wrong, he is trying to convince the world of genres using his own opinions and not actually looking at the music or talking to the people involved in the music. I have contacted him in the past attempting to correct mistakes in the hardcore, some I have noticed he put in after he said no he would not change it.... but still the trancecore genre is wrong...

well, okay. I posted what you guys think define the trancecore and freeform genres in Ishkur's web forum. here's the link....

http://www.ishkur.com/community/comments.php?thread_id=1008

The people on the board mostly make fun of you guys and just think you guys are making the genres up to be cool.

IMHO....That site is full of single-minded *******!!

Isn't it strange that alot of people on the hardcore scene have respect for other music genres', yet very few music genres' have respect for hardcore and don't accept it as "Real music"...

Back on topic....Isn't it all just hardcore? I know people prefer to put the style of music into seperate areas...but if it sounds good...does the name matter??

I dont really care that much, if it would be Upfront hardcore, UK Hardcore or whatever. But the sound clips are in wrong places, witch makes it really stupid.

I mean seriously, e.g. Trancecore:
Dave Davis "Transfiguration" (Should (IMO) be in the same genre as RMB,Marusha, Members Of Mayday etc)
Justrich & Phosphor (Not Phosopher) "Ain't no Stoppin' This" (Freeform)
Deejay Bee & Overflow "Sunrise" (UK Hardcore)
Gives a good idea of the genre, when its just bunch of random tunes :p
