im keen to find out what the main djs are using to put cds together? i assume they are using a cd or mp3 mixer or something? do you think its beat matching for them?

a mate bought the hercules dj unit http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.cfm?articleid=342 a little while back ...

i also saw sasha a few weeks back on his involver tour in sydney. He was mixing using a apple laptop. What software might he have been using?

cheers,
Rob

haha umm most djs still use tables and record onto their computer, unless you're frolic and use the computer to mix your cd

To record a mix like what others and myself do is use the following...

2 X Turntables
1 X Mixer
1 X PC with a recording software application installed

Not a silly "hercules" dj unit. I dont sound to be all horrible or what ever, but that is not mixing. The software you may have seen Sasha using could be Final Scratch which transfers the music to the actual vinyl...or maybe not.

"but that is not mixing."

im not condoneing the use of mp3's for mixing - but technically it is mixing :P
and that is a neet looking contraption.

im guessing that they would use Pioneer 1200's or CDJ's 800/1000 or both on bonkers and such
im sure the mixers would be different thu, proberly be the ones that are top price

hercules dont look that bad, seen them from 200aus to 500aus at diff stores

Sasha was proberly using final scratch (think thats what its called), I have heard its popular, they even claim the world champion dmc champs use them
