Just out of curiousity, I was wondering why so many of the a-list hardcore dj's are so insistant on Cubase SX. I think it's a wonderful program, no doubt, its just, Protools, and Logic 6 are so much more versitile. I currently use Logic more than PT, but I see alot more potential with Logic over CB. Was just wondering why there are so many diehard Cubase fans.

I wouldn't have thought Pro Tools was realy suited to Hardcore or any type of electronic music for sequencing, unless you have all your tracks previosuly bounced to audio.

You mean the tunes that are actually released on Nu Energy, or the labaels that nu energy distributes for? Cos i know a few who use them for distributing that don't use logic :p
People generally use Cubase because it's simple and versatile, aswell as giving excellent results. Tonnes of VST Channels, Master Effects, Sends, All the vsts and stuff that come with it, built in eq, etc, etc :)

Well I don't really want to go naming names on who uses what because it aint my business to tell what people's tools are, it's upto them to tell you... but rest assured not everyone uses CuBase...

i personally use cubase sx but that's just because i started out using it.
basically Cubase is about the same as Logic and Nuendo, just a lot of subtle differences like SX handling VSTi's and MIDI better than Nuendo and Nuendo handling audio files better.. logic has a lot of plugins that come with it that are really good and also comes with a lot of features that enable you to tweak your MIDI in a crapload of ways but it's only available on mac which is a downer for PC users
pro tools on the other hand is really a strictly audio sequencing program, the MIDI and VST/AU handling on it is not very good and that's why most people don't use it for dance music...
basically it all comes down to preference, if you find something that works for you then stick with it.. if you're having trouble using a piece of gear then don't use it or just get rid of it altogether (as a last resort, as you should always TRY to use all your gear).
i think that helps sort out differences a bit.. i think. and for as to why people are diehard SX fans... i guess it's the sort of thing where people just use it with other people so when they start to produce they use the same thing, or something.

i think they use cubase because im sure when they were younger cubase was the easiest good sequencer.
and they ended up using it all the time.
