Hey everyone out there. i am like the biggest hardcore supporter ever!! :P anywayz i really want to become a DJ n was wondering if anyone lives in sydney australia knows how i can learn because i wanna give the music to the people...
another thing.. if anyone lives in sydney australia please tell me of any under 18 raves thanx guys :D

I used to live in Sydney, there is a massive hardcore / DJ scene there... The quickest way to to watch other DJ's. You of course need the equipment yourself, but if you become friends with a DJ or an upcoming DJ you might be able to use their equipment. But when it comes down to it you need at least 6 months practice to get any good so it's best to buy your own equipment and records...
It's not cheap either... you will need about 1000 australian dollars to buy the equipment and 500 - 1000 dollars to get yourself some records.
I really really recommend you get SL1200's first of all, you should be able to pickup second hand ones cheap. I have used stantons, vestax and gemini and they all have their advantages and disadvantages but when you come to DJ a real event they will 99% of the time have SL1200's and if your not used to them your in for some trouble!
I used some brand new stantons the other weekend... holy moly they can't hold pitch for shit. I think they were built for hip hop or something because when you are mixing at 170bpm you can notice the pitch changing.
