Hey every1, my name is Amy-Jayne and i'm 15. I'm really interested in DJ'ing and havn't done ANYTHING before! My parents are prepared to shell out 4 some equiptment 4 xmas but i need advice on pretty much everything, if any1 could help, that'd be great

for starting mixing
you must have two decks and a mixer.
also a equlizer and speakers.
also records .
whats the buget? for it.

Nice to to c that more girls getting into the DJing scene.
Your best bet is to start out using CD's to start your mixing,(its a lot easier).
I started with 2 CD players and a cheap mixer.
If you do try to get unmixed compalation CD's cos it's hard trying to mix something thats been mixed before!!!

i think it not work mixing with cd.
only as an extra deck.

Yeah I gotta agree there. Buy yourself some 'vinyl' decks.
Some people start with belt drive, but I think its best just to get direct.
A set of Techniques 1210 is the set you will never have to replace. If youve got the money and want to really get into it, then I would buy these.
But if you dont have the money then there are a few good starter sets. Soundlabs, Gemini are quite popular.

roughly $800 ~ $1000 - depends on what kind of needles/headshells you get with them...i'd make sure this is really want you want to do before you shell out the money for them. find a friend w/ tables that you can practice on

i got my mk3 1210's brand new for £900,which works out at just under $1300 with stanton 505 cartridges,mk2's which they have in most nightclubs are about £700 or $1000

Yeah i'm only 16, I have been mixing for only a year, and to be honest it is ALOT easier to mix with cd mixers, but when you get more used to mixing you should give decks a chance (mixing perposes). But yeah get CD mixers.
