its not really scratching with CD. more like digital manipulation. if you want to scratch go for the real thing
but if you really want CD decks look into the technics, the brand new numark or the pioneer djm series.
the numark have the best price I believe.

numark is supposed to be coming out with a deck that you load a cd into and use a piece of vinyl to control it...i'm holding out to get one of those

U can already do that with Final Scratch, it supports CDs. Gotta lug your puter around with you too though.

the smart thing to do would be to have a piece of vinyl that is replacable attached to a low friction spindle in the middle, no skipping worries, same feel, digital quality... yum

Yeah i think the new technics and numarks are as close as it gets to the perfect cd deck just now. You are looking at spending 800 quid for 1 though
I have a numark axis 9 which is ok for scratching but to be honest the wheel is really to small to do anything special.

I have an Axis 8, and as far as scratching goes, its not all that great..... it doesn't behave like an ordinary record would... especially when it comes to "releasing" the record..... you can't pull back and then hold it for a second before releasing it.... shame!

I think I will have to get down to somewhere like tottenham court road and go into some music shops and check some cd decks out... prolly wait until end of may (the new technics and numarks are out by then I believe)
but 800 squiddlies for one is ruff, I only hope they are die hard like SL1210's and don't break down etc...
