A midi keyboard really doesnt have to be great. the one you have probly is just fine for reason. A great one would have touch sensitive keys, a couple controller knobs, pitch and mod wheel,64 keys is fine
a midi keyboard is just a controller, dont worry about what the keyboard cant do, worry about what you can do with it

The mAudio ozone keyboard is a really good controller, in fact. It has a line input (possibly mic input? I forget what it was.) As well as the 8 controller knobs, mod wheel, pitch bend wheel, and slider control. It's a really good deal for how much it costs.
I use it for ALL my production and it doesn't let me down.
