Although I have little time for Hardhouse, its part of the scene and I have a little theory about its evolution.

The general vibe of hardhouse is that it evolved from House and Hardcore/techno.
The hardcore influence is obvious, especially in its early days(99 - 2000) when they used a lot of old hardcore tunes and samples. However, to say 'house' isnt strictly true. It has a lot of blippy sounds from the ACID house influence. Now, Acid house was the early strains of, and eventually evolved into Hardcore, and the rest is history.
Now, hardhouse seemed to come about as hardcore seemed to be dying off for a bit which leads my theory to this: HARDHOUSE IS THE PRODUCT OF A SCENE TRYING TO RE-INVENT ITSELF.

What do you guys think?

Hardcore is the passion of the chosen....

Hardhouse is ok if your out ravin, I can handle it then. But in my spare time, when i could be listening to hardcore.... don't think so!

New hardhouse sounds shite to me and the only new stuff I like doesn't even sound like hardhouse any more...

I can't believe it ever got so popular, dunno about your theory freedom but i know one thing. HARDHOUSE NEEDS TO REINVENT ITSELF. there's too much ket and GHB mongs around and not enough good tunes!

yeah hardhouse is pretty gash. some is ok, like tony de vit - the dawn and that, but most is crap, way too slow and weak. its like a commercial version of freeform

I'm not really into Hard House myself cause much of the tracks are too repetitive and get boring after a while. I don't mind a some of the bouncy Hard House like Cheeky Trax.

Some of the European countries like Germany & Holland used to class Hardstyle as being Hard House, It's just that the UK style of Hard House is a bit different.
