Hi,
i would like too say that scott brown does choose the best samples for use in hardcore and also incorperating the style & flow around that given sample but when it comes too more original efforts its sounds & follows a more formulaic foundation of say the industry standard..
i always go on the latest release as my opinion of that artist or prior release being discussed but not because of any ground they've built before as that can overlook the actual substance of the tune...
the tunes ghosts being the prime example of excellent sample choice....
regards pre.....

Bah - most of scott brown's rap samples are from public enemy tracks, it's no real secret.

I love his tunes as much as the next man but I think he could do with trying out a few new sounds on his synths or something because imo his tunes are starting to sound a bit samey.
Don't get me wrong most of his tunes are excellent and you know straight away that your listening to a scott Brown tune (musical identity is a good thing!) just sometimes I can't think which one...
Still when you put out as much as that man does it must be hard to stay 'fresh' all the time.

I totaly agree with you, he makes some great tracks but some of the synths sound all the same in too many of them....

Yeh I like scott browns sound now but really - RTC (Rotterdam Terror Corps) had that sound ages ago I just felt like scott was stealing their sound. Minimal nu-style-gabber. I.E. 4/4-tripplet beat at 160bpm with long decay bassdrums. "Super-saw" synth over the top. and the non-so-new-now extreme EQ-'peaks' on the bassdrum for those 'zoiingg' sounds that RTC did ages ago!

I agree, that song was great but that added line of lyrics was not needed at all.
