As you might of known, I finally got these yesterday. But I have a question. When I'm playing a song, and it's at a high part (like Fine Day when she's singing it high) it makes like a tinny kind of noise. Almost like it's maxing out. I think it might be involved with the bass that makes it do that. Which brings me to my next problem. Sometimes when it's playing all the instruments, the highs are choppy as if it's fluttering. But when I mute the bass out, it seems to be fine. So I'm thinking it might be the bass moving the needle to do that. If someone could help me, I'd really appriciate it.

What kind of mixer are you using? Is it maxing out? Make sure your carts are on tight. Is it on 1 cart or do both do it? I don't think the bass is causing it. Hmm...
If you have extra Styli try switching them. If that doesn't work, take em back and exchange 'em.

yup get stantons, used concordes b4 and imo there pish, stantons own man, even the standard ones last for ages whereas concordes wear down fast, but up to u

^^^ Sorry I disagree never use stantons, I dunno what model your using but the three times I used them they skipped all over the place like a monkey on speed.

I think I found the problem. My weights are set on 2.7 and on the specs sheet, it says, "Recommended tracking force" which I'm supposing means "Tone arm Weight". In that case, I was off 1.3 grams. :P

well i just got some stanton groovemasters with elliptical styli and they sound well sweet, better than my ortofons did when i first got them, IMHO.
Never had a problem with skipping with either, just gotta make sure you calibrate the tone arm and weights properly.
