Hi all!
I want to ask a question about reason and the bass: Could someone explain how I can do a bass in reason? I don't have a clue how I can do it, this "wröp wröp wröp wröp". I don't know which instrument/machine I have to take. I think my songs would sound better if I knew this.
This would be really cool.

well i dont know anything about reason, never used it but, generally any synthesizer can produce a bass sound. Use a round saw wave on the main osc and something a little more electriccy on 2+3 if it has them. turn the cutoff down a bit and, wa-la, instant bass.

Uh, your wa-la goes faster than mine :( I don't see through! Can you explain a little bit more what exactly u mean? I also don't know all these technical stuff for example what 2+3 means.

ok, to put it so you can understand ;)
hopefully, your synthesizer will have the option to change the 'waveshape'
look for a button with this shape by it :
put this on the first (or top) oscilator.
secondly, on the next oscilator use something like this :
finally, on the third, one like this :
they're a little rough but them are the basic shapes. However, turn the second and third oscilators down quite a lot, otherwise it will sound far too much like a stab and not a bass.
now turn the cutoff or frequency down to about 20% or whatever sounds like a bass. experiment a bit. finally, add an attack envelope to get that "wrop wrop" sound you're on about. they look like this :
Attack = time for the sound to come in
Decay = Time for the sound to come out
Sustain = How long the note is held for
Release = How long the note is held for after the inital sound
ignore the key up and down options, i couldn't find anything better.
If all else fails, use a sample.
