audacity recording slows down...

after recording the last few mixes ive done, it slows down after a few minutes on each mix recording. never had this problem before in over 10 years.
anyone got any ideas of what is going on?
i use i-rig into my pc from my mixer.
it sounds like ive hit the 0 pitch button my decks.

Sounds like a memory or storage issue.

Do you have enough RAM, and are you recording to a SSD that have enough cache for read and writes?

Could you provide an example file? With the regular speed and the change to the slower speed in it.

I think it's most likely the sample rate being changed during the recording.

This is exactly the only thing I could think of. At the same time though, I'm puzzled as to why that would happen.

i think i may have sorted it.
i emptied the bin, downloaded audacity again and done a windows update.
it seems to work ok after a little test.
ill record another mix in the week.
if the problem continues, ill upload a clip
