Today, we lost a legend of the rave scene. Stu Allan has sadly died after a long battle with cancer.
Stu was a massive name in the rave scene and an influence on so many people over the years, myself included. He was the reason I got into hardcore and DJing. He was always a lovely man to speak to and the world will be a little less ravier now.

Absolutely gutted, got me into raving was an actual legend, such a nice bloke as well, his radio shows on key 103 were hugely important in the north west, the only free way to listen to hardcore at the time, RIP

used to love his sets around the early 2000s, used to play all the bouncy old skool tunes. ie now is the time, dont leave me alone, 1 2 1 2, jiieehaa etc.
used to mix the night up a bit, with a good old fashioned stomp ;)

Stu Allan with Nukleuz was better at pushing Hardcore compared to All Around The World. AAtW rarelly put hardcore mixes on their releases by Styles, Breeze or Hixxy, while Nukleuz made them the selling part of their releases.
As for Stu himself. I can't say I've ever listened to any of his mixes, but as VISA, he did have a bunch of good tracks that wasn't too cheese (can you ever out-cheese Vinylgroover? :P)

It was heartbreaking news, the outpouring of tributes and stories and everything else was testament to his character, from everyone involved across the entirety of the rave scene. I literally never heard a single negative word about him, ever.

Only ever seen him play once - was at HTID 12 in Birmingham 2005. Watched the dvd back when I heard of his passing and his set was very decent. Loved his remix of I feel on Fire by Sy and Unknown around that time. A legend in the scene and thoroughly nice bloke by all accounts. RIP
